Description: Whilst motor sailing toward Lovina Bali, both the watchkeeper and myself observed what appeared as a grid of pulsing lights several metres underwater stretching as far as we could see. It was as if we were over a vast invisible net with flashing lights at the interstices every 4-5 metres. The lights were bright with a green tinge. The lights appeared to pulse in some sort of pattern along lines in the grid however it was difficult to determine exactly what the pattern was. After about 30 minutes the lights stopped. The chart for this area marks what appears to be a submarine training area however there was no sign of any vessels below or on the water.
